Status of Religion in Humanities in Post-Revolutionary Iran: Discourses and Strategies

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, changing the curriculum of various disciplines of humanities became one of the priorities of the revolutionary elites and intellectuals. They tried to reconstruct humanities in line with the prevailing needs and conditions of the country to utilize them for the country’s development. The present article is an attempt to study the following issues: To review different perspectives in this regard; to study the trend of developments in the field of humanities; to evaluate the impact of these changes on the production of knowledge in this field; to analyze the scientific outcome of these developments; and finally to depict the prospect of humanities in Iran as a developing country.
